Ada Fischmann Maimon - an intellectual biography (Working Title)
Maimon founded the women's workers' movement in Palestine in the first half of the 20th century. She was an activist, politician and is considered the historian of the Palestinian women's workers' movement. She fought for the emancipation of women from what she called the "shackles of tradition." In this sense, she opposed traditional views of the status of women and struggled to reform the concept and nature of women in society. Maimon demanded equal social rights and duties for women through equal opportunities and chances in the world of work. She was tirelessly engaged in this issue and led a socio-politically oriented life in which she fought on several fronts for an emancipated society. The purpose of my work is to highlight the connections between Judaism and the shaping of the labor movement and social democracy in Maimon's works and her life.
