Jürgen Landeck Collection
Jürgen (Hans-Jürgen) Landeck (1923-1988) was born in Magdeburg on June 30, 1923. At the age of 15, he was able to emigrate to Palestine with the Children and Youth Aliyah in 1939. From 1941 to 1946 Landeck was a volunteer in the British Army and also a member of the underground organization Haganah.
He studied Economics and returned to Germany in 1964. Until his death in 1988, he was head of the Library of the Jewish Congregation in Berlin.
The part of his estate library that was acquired in 2002 contains about 400 volumes, including a complete edition of the Schocken Verlag library.
